I have a 302 with the unisteer rack in my 69. I've had Summit Racing headers long tube for at least 20 years. They clear fine. Mine hang low to the ground though. Im going to switch to JBA shorty headers in the future because of that reason.

I am not sure but it seems like a lot of people seem to be going to JBA shorty's for clearance of of the steering stuff. I will be going from long tubes to those when the time comes.

You shouldn't have clearance issues with a R&P setup with JBAs. They hit the box on a Borgesson system, but otherwise fit very well.
