Fuse and Relay Box

I want to put a Fuse/Relay Box in the engine compartment. Anybody have a recommendation for one they used that was a high quality unit?

Re: Fuse and Relay Box

Do a search for "Automotive fuse/relay box" and you'll get plenty.  Here's a sample link to one that looks pretty good.  It has six relay sockets so would work for most carbed cars.  Mine with EFI has eleven but I probably use a couple more relays than most folks.  Mine is a home brew job.

Deb used a similar product in her son's Coupe and I think she was happy.  One thing to consider is if you can get extra terminals if needed.  Terminal supply has all kinds of relay and fuse holder terminals but I have no idea if they would work in something like this.

Keith I used a underhood power dist box from an SN95 from a scrap yard, The toughest part is sorting out the wires.  I used a simple ohm meter and toned out all the wires then spliced each one and soldered and heat shrank each connection

Yes, that's what I was really looking for. Something that had the buss bar in it so I could eliminate all the inline fuses under the hood. I was leaning toward the Eaton 15300 or 15400 series power distribution modules. But wanted to see what other guys were using.

Re: Fuse and Relay Box

Not sure how far you're going with this project, but a flasher that works with both LEDs and incandescent bulbs is model number 'CF-13 JL-02', for both turn signals and hazard lamps.  Find it on Amazon, app $10.

Re: Fuse and Relay Box

This place has a few things but has a really cool power distribution module which will hold and combination of iso 280 type wire connector. This gives you alot of relay options and it will also hold your fuses. https://www.customconnectorkits.com/pdm-s2ac1/
I like a different model the 18 circuit but I dont want to but the minimum quantity so this model the 24 circuit is really nice for a fuse panel its different then some out there. This fuse panel has a 4 buss power input.

This place sells alot of wire connectors 1 specifically that took me a while to find. This connector fits like a glove on sending units, gauge studs cigar lighter, starter relay, and your fuel sending unit. I'm a little OCD so I went a step further with these wire terminals and heatshrinked each terminal then coated them with an epoxy and made them look like a factory connector..

Im building a custom wiring harness but keeping some of it looking like its stock. I wanted to limit holes in the firewall.

This place sells plastic dash light sockets singles with extra terminals and springs to hard wire them instead of splicing.

And for another good source for metal light socket these fit great and look stock im planning on ordering a few more. http://www.riwire.com/

I ordered two Bussmann 15303-2-2-4 units from Summit Racing. I'll post a picture when I get them.

I have ordered from Waytekwire.com several times in the past. But as you stated they have a minimum quantity on each line item and they add shipping on top of that. The Bussmann unit uses the Aptiv 280 series pieces and Waytekwire.com has them.

But, during my internet searches over the years I also found Customconnectorkits.com. They don't have a minimum order or quantity minimum and there is free shipping at $25.00. I ordered the Aptiv 280 series terminals, seals and relays from them.

When I get everything in hand I will post again. Hopefully all this will work.

Re: Fuse and Relay Box

http://terminalsupplyco.com/ will let place small orders the above mentioned TE connectivity will let you place small orders on terminals.
These two places sell wire if you need any. They sell striped, or  double stripe tracer, or cloth Braided wire.

http://www.riwire.com/
For small fuse boxes or relay boxes and wire connectors I also came across these two the first one in particular  has quite a few cool things. Really small fuse and relay holder. http://www.cycleterminal.com/motorcycle-connectors.html

Also if you wanna go the plastic non adhesive tape look.

Re: Fuse and Relay Box

Rangers/Mazda trucks and Taurus and even Toyota  trucks have fuse boxes under the hood.
