Sometimes I find that I am my worst enemy. Some weeks ago I replaced the plug wires due to varmints gnawing away at them. I yanked the cap and all the wires since I was replacing it all. I had a trim-to-length wire-set so I started at #1 using the old as a guide and worked around the firing order. Pleased with the results I tacked other projects.
Today was startup day. I primed the carb, pumped twice and hit the key. The results were not what I expected. The carb belched fire and coughed. I checked the firing order 3 times and tried again with the same fiery cough. More diagnostics followed. I had air, fuel and spark.
I had so carefully trimmed the wires to make everything nice and tidy following the firing order IN THE WRONG DIRECTION. What an idiot!

I'll bet you'll never make that mistake again. Lessons learned the hard way are lessons well learned.

Amazing we all can remember that phone number.
I yanked the plug wires and rerouted them. Some are too long, some too short. Pisses me off, butt she runs and at this point that is all I care about. Please don't laugh at my plug wires at the bash.
The Bucket of Bolts has not been on the road since the snows hit last September. The forecast is for 6" of snow Sunday into Monday so I'll pull the BoB out of the climate controlled shop and hide her in the garage. I hope to drive the crap out of her on Tue-Fri as we leave for the Bash on Saturday May 15th.
The plan is to drive to Conroe TX and visit with my Stepmom for a couple of days. We say goodbye to Mom on the morning of the 20th and head north to Rockwall TX for the bash. If all goes well we'll hit the road to return to Colorado on the 23rd so we arrive home on the 24th.

Just so you feel better, Gary, I just spent two days chasing a problem that turned out to be a couple of misplaced grounds. Who is it that is always yelling about grounding being so important? Well...he's right.

Might be an opportune time for tagging Gary with a new callsign..
