Just some trivia-speedometer gear test

Speedometer gear tooth count

245x45/17 tire
3.50:1 gear ratio
Tremec TKO600 tranny (7 tooth gear)
20 tooth speedo cable gear

Verified with GPS speedometer app on my phone. 60 mph checks correct.  80 mph checks correct

Same gearing different tire. 7 tooth drive with a 20 tooth driven. About 3 mph off at 70.

225/60-15
3.89 gear ratio
Tremec T5 'World Class" (w/7-tooth trans gear; Tremec spec, not confirmed by myself)
21 tooth speedo gear

Also verified with GPS (NUVI); at 40, 60, 80 MPH checks, all agree w/Speedometer (1966 OEM Speedometer)

 


65 Fastback, 351W, 5-speed, 4 wheel discs, 9" rear,  R&C Front End.

Same tire size
Same gear ratio
Same TKO 600 transmixer ( don't know what gear is installed in transmixer)
19 tooth pink gear as spec'd by Modern Driveline. I'm about 5 mph off at 70

Bolted, put a 20T in it and it will be spot-on.
