does anyone know what the hardness of the mustang clutch is on the fork end? just wondering if it might be a grade 5 or 8 which I seriously doubt.

???, with the issues i'm having I need to extend the end of the cable by about 2". so I figure i'll get a barrel nut and extend it. that was the reason for question.
I can actually hook it up all together but the clutch peddle is at the bottom of the dash board, it just won't fly.

I thought that part we made was necessary to make the cable work on a falcon. That part effectively makes the cable housing longer and the cable shorter. If the cable is too short now you might be able to pitch the part we made. This is the opposite of the original problem...seems to me.
What have you done to effect this change?

all I can say is I had to make the upper part because the pinch weld area is not the same as the mustang. I made the upper bracket, and it is up against the fire wall/cowel area. the cable moves forward looping around the oil filter back toward the clutch fork, and falls right in the middle of the header collector. so, I made an extension to get the cable housing over using some 1" square tubing
, which then requires that the clutch fork being extended over to get a straight shot of the complete cable.
so now I am conflicted as to remove the long tube headers, and put the short tube headers on with the help of a torch and a press. the long tube headers were on the falcon when I bought the car and not really in that good of shape due to coming into contact with steering parts and one engine mount which leads me to believe the headers were not the correct ones for the car in the first place. this has been a not so pleasant experiance but i have been through worse and gotten it figured out, i see no reason this won't be the same.
I can not express my gratitude for all the help I have received from all of you thanks,
