Anyone have an AOD Governor or output shaft sitting around?

I’m trying to figure out the dimensions of an AOD Governor to see if I can stick it on an FMX.

If you have one and are willing to measure it up for me please do.  (ID of gov, or OD of shaft).

Thanks,
Peter

Can you better describe the part or a blow up drawing of the part?
I have a complete AOD but am reluctant to disassemble it.
There are the two shafts on the input end but don’t know where the governor is.

You would have to grab a pair of external snap ring pliers and a 13 mm socket / ratchet.  The extension housing bolts have to come out, remove extension housing.  Remove gov snap ring and it will slide off the shaft.

Here is an FMX Governor for reference.  These are the measurements I am looking for on an AOD.

The transmission has oil in it so I guess it would have to be drained . . . correct?

Re: Anyone have an AOD Governor or output shaft sitting around?

Thanks Rudi!  I really appreciate you taking the time to pull apart your transmission and sacrifice some transmission fluid.

Looking like I would have to bore out an AOD Governor to use it on an FMX.

The purpose behind this whole mess is to get my FMX to shift 2-3 later at WOT.  Transgo makes a kit with a lighter spool for the AOD Governor to make it shift later.  Nothing exists for the old FMX and the internal spool is really- really hard.  Far beyond what can be cut with HSS tooling.  I hit it up with some carbide tooling but I was not able to make much of a weight difference.  I’m going to give my modified gov a try and if it does not get me where I want to go I may try boring out an AOD one.
