FMX holding on for dear life!

Got the FMX shifting just right.  WOT shifts at 6K.   I finally got the governor figured out - Thanks Rudi for the measurements on the AOD governor.  I ended up machining weight off an FMX governor, had to shave it down by 1/3rd to get the WOT shifts up to 6K.

The one with all the holes in it is a duplicate of what I am running in the car.

Got a little out of shape on this one - had to let out.

Re: FMX holding on for dear life!

If anyone wants the exact info of what I used on the FMX let me know.  It is kind of lengthy as I had to scavenge parts from different applications.

Re: FMX holding on for dear life!

Thanks everyone.  I was pretty stoked when I took it for a drive, even more stoked that the Sherriff that saw me do a partial 2-3 rip in a 55 did not stop me!

Re: FMX holding on for dear life!

I have a question Peter. Not being familiar with that transmission, are you able to hold it in any gear you want?
I wish my AOD could do that but it would require a new valve body $$$$

I probably don't know what I'm talking about, Rudi, butt (TS&T), I can hold my AOD in 1st or 2nd by doing the AOD shuffle.  If I let it go into 3rd at a high enough speed it won't kick back to 2nd on the full throttle.  Then I can let it go into 4th when I want by moving the lever forward one notch.  Not nearly as easy as the 4R70W but do-able if you want.  Or, maybe I've never pushed it hard enough in 1st or 2nd.

Re: FMX holding on for dear life!

Rudi- I have a Transgo high rpm kit for an AOD if you want.  I bought it for my science experiment but no longer need it.  Yours for free.99 just pay for a small USPS flat rate box.

That way you won’t have to manual shift to wind it out a bit!
