Hey guys,
What are you running for spark plugs in your 14mm aluminum heads? My 289 sports some old Edelbrock perfomer RPM 6025 heads installed back in the mid 90's. They have 14mm by .75" reach holes. Currently the holes are occupied by Autolite 3924 copper core sparkleizers.

I like the autolites. That’s the same number recommended for mine. I opted for the platinum tip. Rockauto had the best price.

I am a big fan of good ole' copper plugs I'd keep what you have.

AFR recommends Champion RC9YC copper plugs, which I have. But I don't know much about plugs, or anything else for that matter.

A local off shore engine builder recommended I use ordinary NGK plugs in my 331, so I replaced the platinum tipped one’s.

So does Edelbrock. A regular copper plug doesn't last as long as platinum, etc., but provides the best spark. The more expensive plugs simply last longer. Platinum plugs came out when OEMs wanted to claim 100k before a tune up was needed.

Champion RC12YC, recommedned by Edelbrock.
Edelbrock 60329 "Performer" heads.
MSD 8584 distributor, MSD recommeded gap 0.050-0.060", gapped at 0.055".

Although I don’t have aluminum heads, I like using NGK V-Power. The Auto Lites and Champion plugs are using steel that loves to corrode. You can hear them rusting on a quiet night.

Yep, I misremembered that. I knew it was a Champion plug with "RC" and "YC" in the number. They are 12, not 9. My Edelbrock 6073s on my 383 Chevy use the same plugs.

I'll stick with my Autolites. The be inexpensive and have worked well so far.
