I done and & done-it again!

66 Coupe.....T-5....snotty cam....no mufflers.....9.5:1 CR!

I got a 'free' car wash Veterans Days. Free is good, right?!   On the way home.....I heard/felt a
skip & a miss.

I IMMEDIATELY  asz-umed ....."water in the gas tank"... or something whacked with the Cobber-raider!!

Today bought a new few-ell filter and installed it. Problem solved right?!.......WORNG!!!!!

Drove around town ...up the bypass.....wring-it-out in first 3 gears...nope...no fix!

Always blame the poor old cobber-raider first!! Even when I KNOW BETTER.

A spark plug wire had popped off the distrib and was causing all the bubbling/jerking/hiccuping
Good troubleshooting practices.....check the obvious....eliminate the simple stuff first..
don't always asz-ume it's sump'in expensive or difficult to fix...take your time ...enjoy-the-hobby!!

Ya... instead of checking the easy obvious fix first, I usually think worst case scenario.

Re: I done and & done-it again!

That's OK Sal, it happens. On the way to the Kansas mini bash, the number 5 spark plug wire on my FB got a Dear John letter from the spark plug and, they separated..
They next morning, they made up and all was well there after...

Had wire to oil sending unit come off, kinda shocking driving down the highway and looked down and see oil gauge at zero, just remember KISS ( keep it simple s---------)
