New throttle linkage for the 331

I modified it to fit with aftermarket throttle return springs.  I see so many botched up return springs on Mustangs.  I like to make them look like the factory could have done it that way.

Where did you get that throttle cable? Mine is wearing out.

I think it was NPD or CJPony.

Re: New throttle linkage for the 331

Okay, nice.  Butt (TS&T) you been yapping about going with an AOD.   AOD requires a TV cable hookup so if you are going that way you are only half finished.  Or did you decide to go with the 4R70W....better idea as we discussed...or a five speed?

Re: New throttle linkage for the 331

Looks really clean to me.  Does it have an adjustment?

If multiple things can go wrong, the one that will go wrong will be the one that causes the most damage.

Re: New throttle linkage for the 331

Bullet, I decided to go with the five speed that is already in the car.   Ot may get changed to 4r70w later.  Will see how it drives.

The adjustment of the cable is accomplished by bending the pedal arm under the dash.

Okay...in that case it's dang pretty and you won't have to redesign it to add the TV cable.  Nice work, as usual.

Seems odd that as long as this thread has been going, 6sally6 has not asked about the cam specs! Or did I miss something?

I'm sure it's a 'girley-cam'!  I done give up on MS!
(I'm sure Sherry could drive it to Walmart with no problem.......)

The thing is…
I can drive it anywhere, comfortably, and still can outrun most of you. And it can go long distances without feeling hyper.  Yep, you can give up on me, but never give up on me showing up at a bash in my classic Mustang.

You never know, it could be a tom-boy cam.

Re: New throttle linkage for the 331

I still have a brand new Comp Cams roller cam in the drawer, just in case.

Side note:  those Summit brand roller lifters all pumped up flawlessly when I primed the oil system.

It was either NPD or CJPony.  I had to cut off the factory spring bracket and weld on a new one to fit the double spring.
It is original part for 4 barrel 69-70 Mustang.  If you can find a two-barrel bracket,it can be cut and welded to do the same job.  They used to be easy to find and cheap.  No longer the case!
