I am thinking the front of my car was too low, causing bumpsteer and very short suspension travel. I bought new progressive springs to install. I am hoping they wind up just a tad lower than this picture, which is the springs that were in it, with NO ENGINE in the car. Wire diameter is 0.725” on the springs that came in the car. Top of tire was even with fender lip. Looked cool, but not very practical. Looking for smoother ride on this GO TO THE BASH car.
It dies have Shelby drop.

You must have your engine apart by now? What’s up?

New owner of the 250 is coming to pick it up tomorrow or Saturday.
The 331 is awaiting final spark plug wire trimming and I am trying to decide whether or not to paint the engine compartment. Looks like it will get done since EVERYTHING will be removed, so it will never be this easy again. Just add another day of dirty work getting it cleaned up for paint.
Installation of borgeson box comes after paint. THEN, the engine can drop in.
Still waiting on radiator shroud. I guess it just won’t have one. The owner of Restoration Parts Source has promised me twice on the phone he would call Carpenter to see when it will be made, and has not followed through both times. I only ordered from them because their web site said IN STOCK. Humorous.

I would paint it while you got it out ...it needs a purdy place to settle in.

Another regret I have is not painting the engine bay body colour when It was stripped.
I don’t like the “correct” semi gloss black.

Ozzie Fords got body colour engine bays ... still looks strange seeing the black.

If you were asking me, I'm picking up the heads from the machine shop tomorrow. The short block is done.

Day ONE of engine bay prep is done. I probably have another full day of cleanup to do. I swore I was not going to do this, but the WYAIT MONSTER has me in his grasp.
I am traditional and will do the engine compartment in satin black. Much easier to touch it up when it gets scratched.
REMEMBER!!! When posting a question about your Mustang or other Ford on this forum, BE SURE to tell us what it is, what year, engine, etc so we have enough information to go on. |
