Re: The WYAIT MONSTER is alive and well in Canyon Lake

Welp, while I do feel your pain, ya gots to pull most of that stuff anyway for air conditioning. And that's something you're not going to regret, although it may be painful right now.

Re: The WYAIT MONSTER is alive and well in Canyon Lake

Yep
Now have to decide which AC system to order.
My compressor (Sanden peanut style) is on passenger side, so that complicates things a bit.

Any help appreciated

You are trying to replicate being a Ford production worker on the Ford assembly line, aren't you 😆

How else are you suppose to get to the back side of the engine bay?

Don’t forget the intermittent 2 speed wipers.

Am I helping? 😂

Yup, now's the time for that mod.  Oh, and you may as well go ahead and add the cruise control.  If this is gonna be a Bash Cruiser you're gonna want cruise. I like mounting the servo behind the dash...nothing but a little cable in the engine compartment.
And an upgrade to the accessory fuse panel is nice...long as you're in there.
Sure hope you can get that thing ready for the Bash in Sept.

Re: The WYAIT MONSTER is alive and well in Canyon Lake

I liked your post many years ago doing the white paint under dash. It’s a big help in down the road under dash visibility.
Rust proofing the cowl, neet how the 69’s outer cowl comes off, way better than the previous years.

BB, didn’t you have the suggestion of making cruise cable connection inside the car?
Like to the pedal arm? Therefore not visible at all.

Yes, we did that on the Falcon project 'cause he used the stock Exploder intake which put the throttle body in an inconvenient place.  I turned mine around so the TB is on the left and used the stock throttle linkage, like with a carb.  Cruise cable is about six inches long coming through the firewall.

It’s all part of the vintage Mustang owner experience.

Re: The WYAIT MONSTER is alive and well in Canyon Lake

I actually had the intermittent wiper module in the shopping cart, but it said it must be used with a certain windshield wiper switch, which they did not have.

I ordered the Vintage Air surefit system from the same company that built my serpentine belt system. Mainly because they offer the correct setup to work with the passenger side compressor.  If they have that all figured out, it will save me a bunch of work. $1400 shipped, including tax.  Does not include a compressor since I already have one.

I will do the wipers and cruise control once I get the cable clutch system built.

Should have plenty of time.  The lead time on the custom AC system is FOURTEEN WEEKS.  Unbelievable.

Meanwhile, I can get the engine in and cable clutch system built.

Seat change is in the plan… I just don’t have enough floorspace left to remove many more parts.

Anybody tried to retrofit 2017 Mustang GT seats in a 65-70?  I have a set I picked up.

I have to agree with Mike. It truly makes my back ache looking at those pictures of all that under dash work being done while laying across those seats.
I installed 96 seats in my 68, but I'm wondering how those newer seats will fit. If you do it MS, shoot lots of pictures.

I store the seats in a bedroom when working under the dash. Just saying...

Seems to me you need a shipping container that could be also used as a bedroom.

Re: The WYAIT MONSTER is alive and well in Canyon Lake

Gawd!!  What's all the whining about working "under" a dash?  That 69 has a removable fake dash that leaves nothing but space to work on what will eventually be behind the dash.  On that thing it looks like you can sit on the seats and work right out in front of yourself.  You guys must be spoilt!  Try  doing all of this in an early car, then you'll know.
