Is anybody still running one of those? my car has one ...I want to replace it because there is no telling how log it has been on it and it is rusty.

Probably better to just put a regular fuel pump on it I am thinking....looks like it could be a leaky disaster.

If I had a 65 pump/filter, I'd keep it.

why did they discontinue using them? it is rusty and I wanna make sure I wanna use it before changing the filter cause I am gonna need to replace the metal screw on cover too.

16 bucks for new canister and filter.

I would keep that setup personally.
I have one on my 289, never had a problem.
It’s nice and easy to change in that location without creating a mess.
I would change filter and while apart, clean up exterior .
If you find issues inside, then I would change.
The nice thing about this stye pump, the canister acts like a small tank for the pump.

I have one of these. Currently waiting on small filter wrench to arrive, so I can undo and replace the filter.

I will order a new canister and filter and try it out.

Good idea its pretty rusty looking may be fun getting it off this first time.

Soak the area where the canister screws onto with penetrating oil a few times for a couple of days to help it’s removal, you don’t want to gall the threads by doing the job dry.

I just ordered one off Ebay and yes, it's a small strap wrench.
Also, I've never had any leaking issues with the fuel filter. It works great.

I need to get a wrench.

I have found that by wrapping some sandpaper around the canister then applying the strap wrench gives it a better grip. At least it works well on oil filters.
