Tip of the day. Installing front sway bar bushings

Sometimes the front sway bar end links just can’t be compressed enough to get the nut started on the threads.  That trusty Harbor Freight ball joint/tie rod removal tool (one of the few reliable tools they sell) comes in handy to compress the bolt into the sway bar and compress the upper two rubber bushings to allow you to install the nut.

I remember fighting mine, wish you would have posted that a long time ago.


If this forum can't fix it, it isn't broke.

I was going to weld up a jig on my welder’s vise-grips, but saw the ball joint tool…

It also works very well for removing and installing wheel studs with axle on the car
