69-70 front spoiler mounting location

Does anyone have dimensions of where they mounted a factory style front spoiler on a 69-70 Mustang?  And picture from below showing it and a picture from above showing final position?

From my 70 Boss 302 days, I remember that the three bolt holes in the spoiler DO NOT mount to what appears to be three corresponding bolt holes in the valance. The spoiler sits forward of those holes a bit. But, how much?

Re: 69-70 front spoiler mounting location

You do not want my honest opinion of spoilers on cars that never came with spoilers!

But thanks for the thought.

Re: 69-70 front spoiler mounting location

I've no idea how am oem spoiler mounts. I bought my spoiler from NPD, which uses the three holes in the valance lower rear edge to mount it. To secure the sections outboard of the outer two bolts, sheet metal screws are used.

Re: 69-70 front spoiler mounting location

Well, apparently this aftermaket stuff mounts differently. I took Bearing Bob’s advice and mounted it using the three original holes.  It took some doing to get it on there and a bunch of clamps and careful measuring, but it eventually went on, within 1/8” of the same dimensions on each side.
Now, to remove it and the valance and then paint the valance and reassemble.

Re: 69-70 front spoiler mounting location

I was constantly repairing the chin spoiler on the lowered 2005 I had . . . . Kept running into curbs with it.
I never learned to back it into parking spots.

Re: 69-70 front spoiler mounting location

I sold my 2016 GT350 because the front spoiler dragged everywhere I went. Well, that was ONE of the reasons I sold it…

Re: 69-70 front spoiler mounting location

Finally got the front end put together.   Thanks for the tips.
Notice my T5 has no Mustang emblem on the grille, or anywhere else on the car.

Re: 69-70 front spoiler mounting location

I used spray cans of automotive paint. Base/clear. About $50 for the two cans, ordered online from TouchUpDirect.  It covers well but does not get as hard as a normal catalized automotive clearcoat. Works fine for this old car.  Front and rear valance and mirrors are painted with it.  Color is slightly darker than the rest of the car and I don’t know if the old or the new is the correct color.   I don’t need it to look better than the rest of the car!

Design a T5 emblem and get Mike to cut it out on his lazer cnc out  of some alluminum or stainless and put it off to the right side kinda like the Shelby.
