In the process of putting 5 speed in my 65 and im using a pro 5.0 shifter it seems to stick up a lot more and I have factory A/C along with Factory console.
I had a full length HumpHugger in my wrecked 66 unfortunately I sold it.
I was just looking at some they have went up in price in the last 20 years lol....not sure they will fit a car with A/C.
Has anybody modified their factory console to fit a pro 5.0 shifter?

This is my factory a/c console with C4 transmission.
I have an old Hurst shifter, removed front stop due to slight interference with front edge.
Will eventually weld a new stop that clears transmission tunnel.
I did not want to cut the opening.
I ordered the econo version of the manual transmission plate from NPD…clearly states that shape is not exactly like original. Still looks good for a driver.
It was only available as a full non a/c plate.
I cut it with a cordless bandsaw to make it an a/c plate…used the console as my template guide.
I made an offset extension for the old shift handle to move slightly to rear and up.
The manual console plate has a metal surround in the hole and I didn’t want to have it hit.
This works for me and I’m only 5’6”.

Looks like I will be ok with the factory console.
