Hi again friends , time is passing and i can think suspension are settled properly , but now has lost a little .
Nothing too bad , but i have very low clearance with long tubes , and rear with 4 leaf is about soft , got touched under in heavy bounce .
The front coil isolator was rubber and i see it's quite damaged , would like to move with 1/2 inch isolator .
or better this polyhuretane : (not 1/2 inch , sure less )
I would like to rise just a little rear but i don't know how to . suggestion are welcome
What you think about these products ?
thanks Again,
alessandro

Best way to lift the rear is with different springs. In the '70s longer shackles were popular, but they change the pinion angle. A lead spring works bets when a line drawn through the eyes is parallel to the ground. Art Rasmussen, an old chassis builder, taught me that 25 years ago. May God rest him.

From what I remember a coil spring spacer will give less than equal thickness raise in lift. A 1/2” spacer might only get a 1/4” lift. For me it has always been a trial and error procedure.
It could be you have the incorrect spring rate if it’s bottoming out.
For you being in Italy I would look at re-arching the leaf springs rather than the hassles of ordering new from overseas.

That's a god point on the leaf springs. Any spring shop can re-arch them. You could also add a half leaf to the front. Makes them a little stiffer, but helps with axle wrap on hard acceleration.
REMEMBER!!! When posting a question about your Mustang or other Ford on this forum, BE SURE to tell us what it is, what year, engine, etc so we have enough information to go on. |
