How did you beat Lt Dan in posting that link? That's right up his alley.

I was saving my lawnmowers just for this conversion.

Thunderhead289 has quite a few videos about carbs, distributor, timing, etc.

He seems down to earth car guy.

No sure how I beat him to the punch on posting. This could be worth while conversion with the way fuel keeps rising absolutely insane.

Re: Want high mpg 40+ on your 289 302 with an adapter

I came across alot of classics that had some sort of Skoda carbs on them to reduce gas consumption. The bigger the engine they were fitted to, the sooner they run out of throttle!

What's the point on driving a V8 Classic and making it a 4 cylinder power car????

Should buy a newer 4 banger instead and gain a few gpm from the aerodynamics too.

There is already an electric to SBF swap available as a crate motor

If it isn't broken...modify it anyway! http://www.DazeCars.com https://galaxieforum.boardhost.com

Re: Want high mpg 40+ on your 289 302 with an adapter

I watched Luke post his videos about this project as he was doing them.  Looking at the link you posted above, the comments were written by people that clearly posted their thoughts without ever actually watching the videos of his project.  He explained why this setup would actually be Rich instead of Lean without his AFR electronic modifier device he created.

I think it was really impressive that Luke could do this and actually get it to work.  That's what I think.

1968 T-code Coupe with a 302.  Nice car, no show stopper for sure, but I like it.

There's a guy  out there making kits for antique cars and trucks. I think it was on my google news feed or something like that. The guys commercial was him talking about his business a little and showing this sorta barn find/ Cleared over rust or faux rust on if I remember correctly as I get the two mixed up but I believe is was a 1956 bowtie pickup.. I kinda chuckled as he said he started the conversion company so that he could preserve what was there. The Truck didn't appear totally stock, plus the truck had no exhaust sound.  please don't tell me the guy also installs the exhaust speaker that produces exhaust sounds for electric cars/trucks.
