    1970 Accelerator/Gas Pedal Assembly

    Hi Friends!
    So I made a New Friend who imported a 1970 Grabber Blue 4spd Car from California.

    His Throttle Pedal moves around roughly 3" left to right, it's total nonsense. What's worse is I can't find a part number or listing for Just a 1970.......All listings show 1969, and one specifically said will not fit a 1970 Convertible.


    Is this part specific to 1970 or is it identical to 69?

    I don't know the answer to your question but am wondering what is the problem.  Is the pedal moving around on its mounting, or on the pivot shaft?

    65 Fastback, 351W, 5-speed, 4 wheel discs, 9" rear,  R&C Front End.

    Need pictures......
    Sounds as though just some good-old-basic hotrodding could be the fix.
    I mean...."come-on, man!" we're talking a gas pedal!...a foot feed!...S
    Should be simple (as in 1970's tech) mechanical (maybe cable) linkage!

    The problem is irrelevant, the car could be getting built from scratch and require a new pedal.

    Essentially I was simply trying to find a replacement.

    But the pedal, as described is very, Very sloppy. 3" of movement side to side. 🤷🏻‍♂️

    Yeah.........
    3 " side-to-side......that's a LOT!
    Make sure the 'screw-holes'(no pun!) or attachment points are... good-and-tight ( pun intended!)
    Again...a picture of the gas pedal assembly would make 'the fix' a lot easier to figure out.

    Is 69/70 identical? 

    Or does 70 have its own part?

    69/70 are the same, but there is a difference between sixes and V8s. Guys, what is the latest trick to post a picture? I have one from the Part and Body Illustration Manual, that would help, but the forum doesn't seem to like it. I upload, hit submit (several times), but no dice. What is the KB limit- this is only 94.5.

    Have you identified why the pedal is sloppy?  You need to verify the issue before knowing that the pedal itself is the source of the slop. 

    1968 T-code Coupe with a 302.  Nice car, no show stopper for sure, but I like it.

    BTW, the only way I could get that picture here was to park it on Imgur, get the BB code, and copy that here. What a hassle. Just a hint MS as to why your traffic is low on this forum- this sort of thing makes the site uneasy to use.

    I have not, I'm simply preparing.....Noah built the arc before the rain.

    As seen in the "Accelerator Linkage" diagram Ford switched to a cable from a rod for the 1969 and later Mustangs.

    Sounds like he might have a screw loose…or missing on the gas pedal mount bracket.

    The pivot screw for the plastic pedal could be really loose,,,

    Money you enjoy wasting is NOT wasted money... unless your wife finds out.
