HAPPY MEMORIAL DAY!!

Let's be safe out there......

Maybe pause a minute to remember the guys
                                            "That- wrote-the-check-paid-in-full"...
for the freedoms we have in this great country.
It's 'over said' too much but....
                                                  Freedom ain't free.

Re: HAPPY MEMORIAL DAY!!

I decline to say "Happy Meemorial Day".
Why would I be happy so many made the ultimate sacrifice....??

Think about this instead....

Re: HAPPY MEMORIAL DAY!!

Spent the Memorial Day morning doing a ceremony with my local chapter of the VVA (Vietnam Veterans of America)  at a local cemetery. Two days before we helped a group of local Boy Scouts and their parents place 920 flags at the graves of service-members buried their, my twin brother Richard being one. On this morning we honored those who gave their all in service to their country. Never forget.

Re: HAPPY MEMORIAL DAY!!

I watched the tail end of Band of Brothers as per usual.  I have to watch Saving Private Ryan, The Pacific, or Band of Brothers on Memorial Day.  There's a part at the end of Band of Brothers where Dick Winters is talking about something a friend's granddaughter had asked her grandfather.  She said "grandad were you a hero in the war?"  His response was "No, but I served in the company of heroes".  The in occurred to me that it was so great that they had made that series when they did, because many of those guys were still alive.  They've all gone now to be with the men and women of that generation I was fortunate enough to know first hand.  God bless all those who faithfully served.
