I've been using Autometer gauges exclusively for about 25 years now. I've built 3 custom clusters with them now and have never felt the quality was lacking.

I have Autometer (electric type) in both my Mustangs

I’m using the stock gauge. I have a Summit radiator cap with a gauge installed and I’ve checked temperatures on the engine with an infrared temp probe in order to ‘calibrate’ myself to the dash gauge. May not be an exact reading but I can tell if the temperatures are getting hotter than ‘normal’.

Mine are Autometer Phantom electric as well as all the rest of the gauges, including the pillar pod.
I have a 180 T stat that reads just under 180 most of the time when up to operating temp. A infra red temperature meter at the T stat says 195, I dont know whaich is correct but the engine seems very happy after many years like this.
I have a micro DPDT on the pod that swtiches from L&R 02 sensors on the Tri-y's.

REMEMBER!!! When posting a question about your Mustang or other Ford on this forum, BE SURE to tell us what it is, what year, engine, etc so we have enough information to go on. |
