My 69 now has over 600 miles on it! Drove in 100 degree temps from New Braunfels to McKinney, Tx. No problems. The 331 ran happily on regular gas, but it feels like more timing and some premium would make it more responsive. Steady cruise speed of 75 mph getting 16.7mpg. Like I said, I think it can do better with some more tuning.
I cannot see what the timing is because that hum-dinger Wraptor serpentine belt system completely blocks any line of sight on the timing marks. It is timed to where it doesn’t ping using regular gas, and that could be way off the optimum setting.

Keep at it with tuning, it takes time. For me, it took several adjustments. In the end I last calculated 21.9mpg. I was very happy with that!

I've seen people with your problem put a timing tape w/pointer under the engine when you can't see from the top. Only to be done on a clean floor.

Got everything but the ROUND TUIT to achieve new timing marks. And I even have a lift to make it easy.

Hardest thing to find in the shop is the ROUND TUIT
