Big Mustang show

We went to the Nickle City Mustang Round Up this past Saturday, over 400 cars on display some from as far away as California in this MCA show.
It was hot and uncomfortable, legs are still sore today from all the walking.

Re: Big Mustang show

Sorry I did not see anything outstanding,  many trailer queens and a preponderance of newer cars.
After attending these shows for a dozen years I have become jaded.

Re: Big Mustang show

I did a search on YouTube, we can all have a brief virtual attendance:

1968 T-code Coupe with a 302.  Nice car, no show stopper for sure, but I like it.

Have you seen the ones that haul their cars in enclosed trailers and put on gloves to drive them off and on the trailer?
I even met a guy once that stores his cars inside a climate controlled barn.

Re: Big Mustang show

I have seen trailers parked off site and then driven a couple of miles to the show site and then enter the driven class.
Some shows have a trailer parking areas  that are larger than the show venue.
Many convertibles at shows that have never had the top down for fear of wrinkles,
, cars that have no fluids in them winched on and off the trailers.
Enough to make a grown man puke.
When I used to attend MCA shows I entered in the modified driven class, under carriage judged. We used to arrive at the show a couple of days ahead of time and spend the time cleaning the car from all the road grime accumulated from the drive.
Steve Janik a member here, <687070 Mustang> Knows quite well what Iā€™m saying, seen him many times with his car jacked up, wheels off cleaning the wheel wells.
We met a lot of very nice people over the years going to these shows, Steve and his wifeJacqui included.

Re: Big Mustang show

Ya missed Mustang Week this year Rudi! (No surprise)
Different group of "Mustang guys".
There were thousands of 'em here.
Multi-million dollar affair for the city of Myrtle Beach.....
The mayor CANCELLED the city's participation in the week virtually killing the 20+ year venture. 'She' said it was too noisy and had complaints from some of the tourists!!
It's only millions of dollars for the local economy.....no big deal.
(my opinion is she doesn't want to promote anything that could be construed as...anti "green"!)
Nasty old IC engines!!!

Far out Rudi... šŸ¤Æ
That's just nuts!
I can't understand that culture that you spoke about. Like you, I'm all about driving and enjoying these cars.

Ā
I wonder what the mayor thinks about bike week in October where thousands of Harleys are trailered and driven to Myrtle Beach
I have been kept awake many nights with the roar of Hogs with straight pipes and screaming crotch rockets racing up and down Ocean Boulevard at 3am.

She don't like them either!!     Noisy & and they project the worng image for MB.....

MB  tried to enforce a helmet law a few years back... even though helmets are NOT required in SC..
their way of trying to kill it!
This is why sooo many of the bikers are gravitating to the South Strand area(Surf Side...Garden City...Murrells Inlet...Pauleys...etc.
Harley riders spend...MILLIONS in the area food & bev, lodging, gas etc. (just like the Mustang crowd)
