Took the coupe to work this morning to get some miles on. Coming home, got about 4 miles from home and seemed like i was losing power. Downshifted, slowed down and continued on. Little further on started getting some vibration in the steering wheel and started smelling brakes. Stopped on my corner and saw some smoke come out of the drivers side wheel. Limped the half mile home.
Have 76 Granada disk brakes on the front. Any suggestions? Sticking caliper? Don't know if i will get to it tonight, have a birthday party to go to.

Can rotor be spun by hand?
there will be some drag but can still rotate.
How does it spin with caliper removed?
Did you lube the edges where caliper slides against bracket and retaining bracket?
Are both the caliper and bracket free of nicks that could catch one another?
Try pressing the piston in completely and pump up and bleed.
I’d start simple for troubleshooting.
If it happens again, I would get a rebuilt caliper.
Piston might be sticking in the bore.
You can pop the piston out with compressed air, just have a block of wood/rag to prevent damage to piston surface. Perhaps some debris/rust inside?
That’s all I got.
BTW, I had great stopping with semi-metallic pads for taxi/police cars.
Organics were terrible.

i had put rebuilt calipers on it when i put the brakes on, but that has been 8-9 years ago. Maybe 2000 miles on them, but they sat for 6 to 7 years while i rebuilt everything else. I jacked the wheel up and it turns with a little resistance. I will dig in tomorrow night.

Could also be a collapsed brake hose that's not releasing pressure.

Be sure master cylinder is not being actuated by too long pedal rod or booster output shaft. And caliper slides without impediment.
Outside pad dragging is typically caliper slide. Inside pad usually stuck piston, swollen hose or master cylinder not releasing.

Drove the 67 to work today. 20 mile trip. I think something is going with the master cylinder. Just one brake hung up last time. Put on a new hose and rebuilt the caliper. Today when i got home, it seemed like the brakes are dragging again. Put it on the lift and i can turn the wheels but all are very tight.
Put the brakes and new master cylinder on 8-9 years ago and did not have any trouble back then. I know i set the pedal rod with a little gap. Could the mc be sticking or any good guesses?

Discs/drums or all discs? Vacuum assist? Do you have a residual or proportional valves? Assuming you have a dual master cylinder.
If all 4 wheels are tight to turn, seems like the pressure is not being relieved back to the MC. Does the brake pedal seem to be lower than normal; did you try to pull up the brake pedal?
I have also seen a vacuum booster get stuck in the ‘brakes applied’ position.
Hope this helps.

4 wheel disc brakes, Pb-1 proportional valve, vacuum assist boost.
After i checked the wheels, went out half hour later and all but the left front turned freely. That is the wheel i just put a new hose and rebuilt the caliper. It is either the mc or the booster. Not sure which yet.
Pedal seems normal.
It is coming to the Bash, (on a trailer)
