I have a C-Tek that works about the same as my Optima charger.
Both are smart chargers that analyzes as well as conditions AGM as well as lead acid batteries.
Hakan really likes the C-Tek.

MXS 5.0 is an analyzer, Charger, maintainer , reconditioned , will do Optima which is AGM & lead acid regular batteries .
Does the same thing as the Optima.

I think the Optima is a re-branded C-tek.

Are you satisfied with the MXS 5.0 or is the step up from it in C-tech worth it … still would like a optima 1200 later when they are more available but needing something now. I have a optima that was in my wrecked car and was thinking maybe it could be saved. But… it is 17 years old and still tested good before wreck it is dead as a hammer now. I need the charger for my camper, several other cars my zero turn mower and my 4 wheeler too.

You don't need the model 1200....get the optima 400.
Advance Auto in Bremen has one $134.
That's what I use and it works perfect.
Have questions? Call that store. But I already did and they have one in stock....balls in your court now...

I just have one of these. And a conventional Schumacher and a big ole school craftsman I haven't used in years. Is this something I should be worried about? Y'all know I love having the cool toys...
Seems to work fine. Its a 20 dollar bill.

I use a Battery Tender on my Optima Red top during winter storage times. I do not leave in on all the time, couple days 'on', then I watch the battery voltage and reapply when necessary (a week or two). Also, I will drive the car a few times when weather and road conditions are acceptable.
