    Wiring

    I’m well in to installing American Autowire Harness in my 67 Fastback.

    I have several things under the hood that I need to add connectors to like 12v ign wire to my 3 g alternator, 12v ign wire to signal my msd box, ac compressor etc

    What’s the best single wire connector to use ?   I have some weather pack terminals and just started looking in to using Deutsch connectors which see. Awesome when you use the solid terminal pins.  Prefer something small and less noticeable

They also have a fairly good selection on teconnectivity.com they also sell a 90 degree connector that properly fit the number 8 studs throughout the car on back of gauges, cigar lighter,sending units and on the fender solenoid.

    https://www.clipsandfasteners.com/OEM-Terminals-Shells-s/259.htm sells a variety of connectors. Maybe use two different types. Some waterproof connectors some that arent waterproof like in american auto wire kits.

    Sells great replacement for light socket on gauge panel. Actually metal not black plastic like what your get from napa or oriely

    Also company out there that sells the dual contact light sockets beleive its ron morris. Theres a chevy site out there for 55-57 chevy gauge lights which are close to mustangs.

    Digikey.com found the 90 degree connector. Nice one to maybe have a few extra on hand.  I added a lil solder to the end of the connector to make sure it had a good connection. After installing terminal. I sanded my connector down with 80 grit. Then I applied two coats of pc brand epoxy. Tried to used jbweld. It didnt like to adhear to the brass. Then I went over the connector with a paint shapie and gave it a coat of satin clear.

    I love the Deutsch connectors! I try to use them almost exclusively now, if it's in your budget you can get nice *USA* made pins here https://racespeconline.com/collections/connector-kits/Deutsch-DTM for the crimpers I used a JRReady set from Amazon.

    Be mindful of the load carried by the wires when choosing connectors.  Weatherpack connectors are only really good for lower amperage connections.  I would not use them for anything with a draw over 20amps.

    Another trick is to use some shrink tubing over connectors that may not look stock (if that's the look you are going for).  It covers them with a black, durable covering similar to the molded stuff the factory used.
