Installing the American Autowire harness in my 67 fastback.
The harness apparently runs straight to passenger headlamp plug which has wires that piggy back at the plug over to passenger side.
So to remove the headlight bucket or shelby nose you would have to unplug the plug at the actual headlight.
Factory had a plug to disconnect from front head light harness.
I want to install a plug of some sort so the front nose could be easily removed by just disconnecting from the main harness. Have any of you that have installed the AWW harness done something similar. ?
Just curious where i could find a good male and female plug i could use ?

There are many connectors on the market. Weather Pack is one brand. If the connector is going to be in an area where there are could get wet, choose a connector suitable for this service.

I had the same issue with the Painless harness going straight to the headlight and wanting a plug to disconnect more like the factory harness. I lucked into a 67 Mustang at the local pick a part and cut what I needed out of that harness since it was in decent shape. Crimped, soldered, and heat shrinked the splices and all has been working fine.

I'd give Randy at Midlife Restorations a call, 850-624-7528. He just might have what you need.

I have some new Deutsch DT series 4 pin connectors with nickel solid pins. These are waterproof and the way you crimp the solid pins makes a very good connection. online they indicate this series connector can handle continuos 13 amps.
Would this be sufficient as a disconnect at the front fender apron ?
I googled it and online info says a halogen bulb draws about 4.5 to 5 amps.
