I went MustanSteve style and added a different front bowl that was threaded on both inlets . Now I will have the fuel line on side with fuel pump. I believe it’s the cobra upgrade like the Shelby’s had too. I need to mail the original shiny bowl to Rudi and let him tap it for me so I can make them match again some day.

It needs to be tapped AND the seal surfaced spotfaced so it will seal properly.

Dont you have ti drill out a passage too for gas to enter?

I mentioned that in my pm to you.
I did not elaborate the whole procedure in my response here.
As for the spot face one can’t expect a leak free seal on a cast surface
It’s not rocket surgery, just basic machine shop practice and common sense.

Yes, you must also drill out the passage for fuel near the top of the threaded needle/seat hole so fuel can get from the driver side inlet to the passenger side.
The factory used a cast rectangular window but a couple of carefully drilled holes with the remaining metal between the holes removed will do the trick. You just have to be careful to not damage the fine adjusting threads as the drill bit cones through. I am certain Rudi can take care of that for you.
I think you can also buy the bowls with both inlets in the silver color.
REMEMBER!!! When posting a question about your Mustang or other Ford on this forum, BE SURE to tell us what it is, what year, engine, etc so we have enough information to go on. |
