428 CJ

I’m looking at a catalog showing the air cleaner base. It looks like it sits down over the carb rather than on top of the carb. Any one know if that’s true or not?

Take a look at FAQ too.
There’s a lot of info here.

Another thing to remember is the large diameter distributor cap didn’t come until 1975.
Which will be taller than the earlier distributors due to the adapter and cap.

Yes it is true. When I came back home from Vietnam I bought a 1969 428 Cobra Jet with the shaker and it sat down over the carb. I would still have that car if it hadn't been totaled in a wreck my brother was involved in (not his fault)

It needs that drop down feature to fit the shaker base under the hood.
