Dan - thank you, I see by these diagrams the Neutral Safety Switch and the Clutch Pedal Switch is an "or' circuit, where either one or the other switch will provide the signal.

So I'm not installing the neutral safety switch at least for now.
Now i have to figure out if I need to change any wiring with the AWW harness to allow the engine to start without the switch wired in.
The harness has two puple wires for the neutral safety switch. I know the purple wire does have 1 termial to the s terminal of the starter solenoid.
I think on my coupe when i installed the 5 speed i used a jumper to complete the circuit.
Anyone used the AWW without the neutral switch?

I’m not familiar with the AWW harness, but if it contains some sort of a connector that would go to the neutral start switch, you’ll need to connect (splice together) the two wires on that connector.
I not sure what year your Mustang is but the 65-66 manual shift cars did not have a neutral start switch, automatic transmissions did have this switch. I’m not sure what year Ford stared installing a neutral switch on manual transmissions.
Also, I suggest contacting AWW, they should be able to provide the info you need.

Mine is a 67 that was originally a c4 auto 289 car. It came with a neutral switch.
I'm guessing i will need to connect the two terminals together. Sent AWW the question to see what they say.
would make sense to need to connect them to have start enabled otherwise the circuit is open. I guess once you shift in to neutral it completes the circuit to allow start

You are correct that the neutral switch contact needs to be 'closed' in order to allow the start signal to get to energize the starter solenoid.
I'll note the modern cars that contain computer controls could operate this circuit with a closed or open contact depending on the logic setup within the computer.
