I have been checking NPD, CJ Pony Parts and a local Mustang parts house. I have bought floor panel plugs from the local dealer, and NPD, and the parts they sold me claim to fit a 1 1/2" hole - but they are too small. NPD told me they would fit the 65 convertible, but they don't. The holes in the reinforcement panels beneath the floor panels have true 1 1/2" holes. I am trying to find someplace that actually sells rubber plugs that will fit a 1 1/2" hole. I have looked on eBay and Amazon - but I am gunshy about ordering more 1 1/2" plugs, and they don't fit. Any dependable sources?

Just for giggles, I checked Rockauto. They list a Goodmark brand kit, #GMK302051264S for around $8.00
Unfortunately, it doesn't specifiy plug dimensions. Its' also available at Summit.....
Just my "plug" to help you with your issue........

If that doesn’t work out, try the plastic plugs that are sold at Hardware stores or Amazon, check out the link below.
