Re: Carburetor size and brand selection

Holley electric chokes work great.  I recommend filing off the middle level of the three step on the red fast idle cam so it drops idle speed quickly.

Money you enjoy wasting is NOT wasted money... unless your wife finds out.

My biggest problem with 'manuel' chokes are............forgetting to close them when the engine warms up !
Other than that.....no prob.

I used to have a manual choke (in another car) for years and it was ok. It can be easy to forget to shut them off, but no big drama. On the Mustang,  I ended up fitting an electric choke to the Autolite 4100 and haven't looked back.

Re: Carburetor size and brand selection

I Like the Holley 570 street Avenger it has electric choke I had one on my 66 that was totaled put it on in 2005 and never had to adjust anything till I wrecked in 2021. It got 23mpg.
You can look on the Holley.com Website and look for Factory refurbished and the price is good. The one I have now is a Factory refurbished and I could not prove it wasnt new looking at everything.
