Wiring

Hey has anyone used the 22 circuit universal automotive aftermarket wireing harness from Speedway. only $200. I really dont need the front because I have redone that end but would like to have fuses and new wires to the rear and under the dash.

Re: Wiring

I used the Racer’s Inc, WB-14 fuse/relay panel and fit it into my 65’s glovebox.  The glovebox was supplied with the Vintage Air system I had previously installed.

Re: Wiring

Sorry but I don't believe in giving up the glove box for improvements or modifications.  When I was going to EFI I read a bunch of crap that said you "will need to give up the glove box in a 66 to mount the computer":  BS!!  I made a bracket and mounted it under the cowel.
Then Vintage Air supplied a totally useless replacement for the glove box.  I made a five-piece screw-together glove box from ABS that was one inch shallower than the stock one.  Had plenty of room for ducting and it cleared the VA HVAC unit just fine.  And, the glove box actually holds the usual crap with no problem.
As for mounting a fuse panel, I found that mounting one, facing down, off the bottom edge of the dash works great.  I put two 10-32 rivet-nuts in the bottom of the dash and screwed a piece of sheet metal to that under the glove box,  The fuse panel is attached to that and faces the passenger footwell.

Re: Wiring

Getting under the dash, or other tight spaces, is getting to be an issue for me, both the twisting of my body and my aging eyesight.  So, when I made a console, I included a storage area.  Fits everything I need.

Re: Wiring

I too didn't care for the VA glove box so I cut down my new stock one and can even store the owners manual for tunes, ins card and other useless carp. Thinking about mounting on a hinge system maybe under DS but not sure yet. Plus I am looking at the21-22 circuit one Speedway sells for $200.
