Fitting size for 1966 289 Power steering actuator.

Please can anyone tell me the size of the fitting on the end of the hydraulic hose that goes from the power steering pump to the power steering actuator and for that matter, also the size of the fitting on the return hose.
Due to the Fox body power steering pump fitted to the car, I can't use the original hose and its very difficult to get hoses made up in the UK so I am hoping to use AN fittings with suitable braided hose.
Thanks for any help.

Re: Fitting size for 1966 289 Power steering actuator.

Graham,
Too bad you can't just take the 5.0 hose and the original hose and marry them...that what I did back when I still had original PS.  But...I think the fittings on the original PS hoses at the actuator and the cylinder are SAE Inverted Flair (IV) and the sizes will be in Imperial inches according to the tubing size...probably 1/4 inch and or 5/16 inch.  You can probably use AN with adapters.
Good luck, glad the project is moving along.  Send pix when you get a chance.

Re: Fitting size for 1966 289 Power steering actuator.

I have 92 foxbody p/s pump (it’s metric) and stock factory p/s (w/ long tube headers and drop bracket for cylinder).

This was my first attempt…I had problems flaring tubing.
The old hose was slightly too big for fitting…90’s vintage hose.
Used stock style pressure hose to control valve.

This is Barry’s setup from down under.
As I recall, he has the 94-95 accessory drive.

My current setup with Barry’s help (3 years).
The fitting in red was not needed, just in case line was too short.
Use stock style 65 pressure hose.

I noticed the red makes it hard to read part information.

This is the stock style 65 pressure hose (Thompson pump).
