Dodge did the best with Challenger then Chevy with Camaro as far as kinda looking like the old cars...but Ford coulda blew them out of the water with a vehicle like this Vapor show car.

I agree Billy.
The Roadster Shop built the “frame” that Kevin Tetz Terminator powered ‘65 too….yes there is a real frame underneath his car that ties into the unibody.
Take a look at any of the Ring Brothers’ Mustangs too.

Have to disagree with Billy RE: the Camaro. UUUUUGGGGGLLLLLEEEEEE!!!!!
Dodge truely knocked it out of the park for retro design in a modern car. Ford did a great job with the 05 Mustang, Chevy, in a "me too" catchup move crapped on themselves, IMO.
As for the show car. Liked it just fine except for the KIndig door handles....hate 'em, sick of seeing them on everything. And a little brightwork would be nice.

Yep........Shivel-lay Cammeroo is pure but-tuggly !!
The Dodge Challenger is a little better.
It's the belt line on both of them that makes them fatter/plumper than the original they were copied from.
The belt line is bigger........so are the belt lines of the guys that owned the 'original' !!!
I guess.....they had to be fatter to make them "more-safe"...
yuck!
The Challengers still make me grin when I see one though. I had one BITD.
I drove one with the 440+6pack once.
NOTHING has ever come close to that kind of scoot !

I did not say the camaro was pretty I said they did better than Ford making it look like the old version the camaro looks more like a old camaro than the mustang looks like a old mustang ....I really dont see why Dodge did not work on a 2 door dodge Charger instead of the Challenger I think it would have did so much better and a Super Bee....Baracuda. BUTT a a 4 DOOR DODGE CHARGER what the hell.......I had good times in themover the years they will do 160 with right chip and not much else....we were kinda limited...they are letting some of our local agencys get HellCats now to keep up with the HellCats on the road....they do pretty good they normally cant out drive us we trained all the time on a closed track spinning each other off the road pretty scary at first but you get use to it.
Steve and Sally ....Dillan Text me this morning saying he has decided he is gonna try and get on as a police officer too....I been at it 29 years of my my 53 years I guess its partly my fault....lol

I been trying to talk him into Fish and Game ( Game Warden) State Job Good Benefits his age he could get 30 years in and retire like my buddy did and is drawing 64 percent of his salary he was drawing at time of retirment and is working full time as a Deputy now cause he still has about 15 more years to hit SS.

Vapor has some neat style take aways from the 2015 Mustang. Now there was a neat yellow 05-09 or should I call it a 67-09 Mustang. Saw only a little of it in a video that Bad -oh no I used a word I shouldn't have- Chad on you tube posted a while ago. The owner ended up forwarding me some photos of his 05-09 that got converted into a 67-68 fastback. Pretty neat build not my cup of tea on the color but the owner is a huge steelers Fan. Ill see if I can dig up some photos.

All this talk about Mustangs Challengers Chargers Camaros makes me wish I was born in the 50s. What I think would be neat and I think a neat idea for the Mustang platform would be give them options like all wheel drive. Chargers have this option why not on a Ford Mustang a Mustang sounds like it should have this feature out of the gate almost these days. I realize the Mustang Ford originally built wasnt designed with this in mind.
But now adays think of all the Subarus you see on the road. If Ford gave the Mustang some other available features with out wrecking the design of the car then I say go for it. I drive my 2015 in snow its done great beleive ut or not. And I live In Salt lake City Utah where this this are Snow record beat a huge all time high for the state this year. There were only a few days that I couldnt drive my car. I need to get a engine for my 1985 k10 pickup build. It was my Grandpas and my late Dads pickup.

One neat thing with chassis body swaps ive seen a 1968 Charger to 2012 Challenger chassis swap. The chargers are the same width to the inner pinchweld. Build up a Charger body mount it on a 2012 or Challenger Body Chassis.

That mustang did not appeal to me. The modern color(s) that look like glazed clay is ugly to me. Then add to it the wheels that are much too tall for that car wrapped in rubber band looking tires. And finally, the car is missing any accents that was originally provided by the chrome trim but could have been provided in some other way. For me, the final result is blah.
It's fine if you like it - we don't all need to like the same looks.

REMEMBER!!! When posting a question about your Mustang or other Ford on this forum, BE SURE to tell us what it is, what year, engine, etc so we have enough information to go on. |
