I removed plug numbers 4 and 5 this week to check on the health of the engine and was really surprised to see the plugs in this condition. The plugs have been in there for about 2 years or so. I expected some signs of starting to burn oil at very least. So I think with the compression being good and the plugs looking this good, the engine will go for a few more miles yet...
The last time the engine was rebuilt was in about 2004 and it was a very budget rebuild. The engine has about 60,000 miles on it since the rebuild.

Wow! I could clean and scrub on mine for an hour and they wouldn’t look that good!

Is the engine FI or dripping pot?
My plugs are all over the spectrum just pulling them out and looking at them..
I can’t go through the correct proper procedure of reading of the plugs because of the PITA it involves.

I was extremely surprised when I saw the condition of the plugs. Hard to believe really, considering that next year will be about 20 years since I rebuilt the engine and it was a very budget concious/ minimal rebuild at that.
The lifters sound like they might be getting old and I will see how that goes. It may mean that I need to replace them and I would get the cam re-ground or replaced at the same time.
Other than that, I think there are quite a few more miles in it yet.

What do the rest of them look like?

Last time I had all the plugs out, it was pretty consistent.

Looks like you stole my plugs Rudi.
