Does anyone make or have an adaptor for the springlocks on the fuel rail to attach a gauge for a 5.0?
Or what is the best way to check the fuel pressure?
Cannot find a schader valve on the rail anywhere.
I have a fuel rail off of an F150 i might have to cut up to make one otherwise.
How's that Sal?

Something like this?

What fuel rail are you running, Alan?

Raymond, I have an engine out of an 89 Mustang, that one wont work,
BB1 The fuel rail is off an early Mustang as far as I can tell.

Alan, the factory foxbody “riser fuel rail”…from oil pan to intake fuel rail has the shrader valve.
The location is behind the alternator.

If i had used those, i would be in luck. I modified the fuel lines from a 95 F150. I dont think there is a shrader valve in them

I am scratching my head on this one, what year F-150? I had a gauge on my Lightning (95 F-150). IIRC it was a quick connect fitting, but it's been a while.
Not my truck, but a pic of a Lightning fuel rail.

Did the 5.0 and 5.8 use the same hardline fuel rails with different flex hoses?
The 1997 F250 5.8L fuel rail has schrader valve on passenger side near front.

Perhaps easiest solution is to drill and tap the block near distributor.
Just verify it doesn’t interfere with distributor.

Alan, I just checked the inventory and I have a spare Fox fuel rail with both connections on the right side, like yours, except mine has the schrader valve at the fuel pressure regulator. PM your email addy and I'll send pix. It's yours for the shipping in'n you want it.

Drilled and tapped the inlet block on the fuel rails today. Had 42psi with the vacuum unhooked. 35 with it hooked up.
Looks like i am either going to have to get a 60 or 62 mm throttle body or have somebody tune the ecu.

I have a used Ford Racing 65mm TB sitting on the shelf.I don't know that it would fix your problem, but PM me if you're interested.
REMEMBER!!! When posting a question about your Mustang or other Ford on this forum, BE SURE to tell us what it is, what year, engine, etc so we have enough information to go on. |
