    Cobra Oval Breather Question

    Those of you that have them how did you keep them from hitting the needle adjusting screw that is on top of float bowl....mine hits it and it dont let it sit down and seal. also sits on the plug wires.

    SO>>>>>what do you guys/girls do  some may not have even noticed it does this it is sucking air right there not even filtering it like that for sure

    On mine, I was able to mill an area in the cleaner base that cleared the part on the carb. My base had maybe 1/4  inch thickness there.  Hope info helps.

    How much interference you got Billy.
    Mine just needed about an eighth inch, see other air cleaner thread for pictures.
    Other than that percussion mods may be needed

    Noticed my BAFFLES are missing out of my Valve covers.....crap

    I had to remove the baffles from my “Cobra” valve covers due to roller rocker arm clearance issues.  Not a good move, oil was getting thrown flung into the PVC valve one on side and into the breather on the other side.  These pictures are what I did to solve the issue.  I tapped the valve cover for 10/32 Allen head screws, used Loctite and safety wired to be sure they didn’t unscrew and cause bad things to happen.

    so that stopped the oil or most of it?  Steve is checking on some baffles he may have I seen some after market ones that may also work.Not sure where I laid mine.

    Billy - yes, this stopped the issues I was having.  No more oil soaked breather cap, no more oil being thrown into the PVC valve.  Prior to installing the baffles, oil thrown into the PVC would cause oil to be sucked into the intake manifold when I lifted off the gas pedal, particularly at highway speeds.  I haven't had this issue since installing the baffles several years ago.  

    65 Fastback, 351W, 5-speed, 4 wheel discs, 9" rear,  R&C Front End.
