Oil Leak at Head Gasket

Hello all:
1965 200 6 cyl manual. Is it possible to have oil weep at the head gasket drivers side without seeing other issues. No exhaust discoloration, no water in oil, no oil in water. etc. No misfiring. It just looks like a light glistening at the gasket between the head and block.

Thanks much

Robert

Re: Oil Leak at Head Gasket

Clean it real good and then spray it with Jock Itch powder, Robert.  That way you can tell if it's coming from the valve cover gasket or head.  I'm not familiar with the 200, how does oil get to the valve gear....push rods?  Also, how does the oil drain back?

Re: Oil Leak at Head Gasket

In looking at the Ford Service Manual for the 170- & 200-cylinder engine, oil is feed from the camshaft rear bearing to the rocker arm shaft at the rear of the engine through a passageway within the block that coincides with a passageway in the head.   Drain back from the head is along the OD of the push rods.

Try Bullet Bob’s approach to ID the leak source.

If you want, send me a PM with your email address and I’ll forward you a copy of the page from the service manual that details the oiling system.
