I have a 68 fast back that I have put a 9" rear end in from a Lincoln Versillas (Rear disk). I still have the original drums on the front. Original master cylinder and brake pedal. Have a complete front disk spindal/Rotor/proportional valve & master cylinder assembly from 69 cougar. Do I need a new master cylinder, brake pedal & adjustable proportional valve. And if so does anyone have part numbers they know will work. Would like to go through Summit.
Thanks for your help.

The 69 Cougar stuff will bolt right on your car and work fine. If you need a replacement master cylinder and / or want to add power assist to the discs, see my we site.

The car was originally 4 wheel drum. I'm still using the old master cylinder & brake pedal. When I convert the front to disk. Will I need to change/swap master cylinders or brake pedal. Or will the original master cylinder work ( 4 wheel drum set up).

Use the Cougar disc/drum master cylinder. Be sure brake rod cannot pull out of MC. Use Cougar prop valve.
REMEMBER!!! When posting a question about your Mustang or other Ford on this forum, BE SURE to tell us what it is, what year, engine, etc so we have enough information to go on. |
