Thinking of ditching this mega fuse

Between the 130 amp alternator and starter solenoid.  Any other solutions?

Re: Thinking of ditching this mega fuse

I am using a factory battery/alternator harness from a 2001 v6 Mustang.
The factory harness uses fuse links.
Battery and 3G alternator (130 amp) are on passenger side.
Largest loads on the 65 are stereo, EFI, a/c, and Hella headlights.

Re: Thinking of ditching this mega fuse

I bought some black ones on Amazon that don’t yell out “I just got my driver’s license and a blaster stereo”

Money you enjoy wasting is NOT wasted money... unless your wife finds out.

Re: Thinking of ditching this mega fuse

Here is what I used. I can dig up the part numbers in a bit. They are made by Littlefuse. Fuse size is called MIDI. Seems like I bought some from Mouser Electronics and I found a receipt from Grainger. Mouser shows them as non stocked and Grainger shows them as discontinued. Mouser has some other choices that are stackable based off of 498900 part number.

Re: Thinking of ditching this mega fuse

As above I've used these with good results and it doesn't look like I just got back from Amazon Car Audio headquarters

Re: Thinking of ditching this mega fuse

Fuses are ok but I prefer a circuit breaker.
There’s also electronic circuit breakers as well.

Re: Thinking of ditching this mega fuse

I installed a "Blue-Sea" Safety Fuse Block that accepts AMI, or MIDI fuses, with a range of 30-200amp fuses available.

65 Fastback, 351W, 5-speed, 4 wheel discs, 9" rear,  R&C Front End.
