I talked with Trey today, the owner of Emerald Coast Classics, where my 2+2 is currently residing.
Miss May is missing(cause of the dang paint shop which lost or used on somebody else’s car) ) 4 65-66 door hinge bolts. Can’t find any my junk piles, anybody got any to swap, sell) or donate?

Are they 3/8" or 5/16" bolts? Sometime in the '65/'66 time frame Ford switched from 3/8" to 5/16" bolts.

Hey Corky...are they unique bolts ?
Would grade8's from your True Value do the same thang ?

Are you needing the hinge to pillar, or the hinge to door bolts? I can get a picture of length and dimensions.

I probably have a pile of them. Let me know exact size and washer type.

1965 are smaller bolts 1966 is larger bolts. I found that out working on a 1965 and then a 1966.

I also have some that I'm sure are right...not special bolts, just flanged or captive washer bolts similar to the fender bolts. I'm sure I have some as I took a few doors/hinges apart to use on the Heap.
Let me know size.

I have to disagree. Here is a photo of a 9/16" box end wrench on one of the door bolts on my early '65 (Sep 1964 build) San Jose fastback. When I bought the car I got a rusted out '66 San Jose fastback for a parts car. I was removing the doors from it and a 1/2" box end was required. That's when I learned about the different bolt sizes.

Tubo, I would have sent them today if I knew what you needed.
Will be gone until Wednesday next week, now

Texas. Dag Nabit I wish I lived south in Texas I love the heat. I wouldve gladly bought the rusty fastback shell from ya after you got all parts you needed. I dont live to far away Utah. I want to find or buy a Fastback bad. I need to find a new job first. I just dont have many ideas on what to go into and I dont have much immediate help on suggestions. I would loved to of picked up the Black and silver stripe 1971 Mach1 I saw not to long ago. $6,500. Or the 1965 fastback that one was funny. I asked the owner about it and then gave him an offer.. then he came back with this obsurd price $25,000 for a rusty 6cyl it was complete though.
REMEMBER!!! When posting a question about your Mustang or other Ford on this forum, BE SURE to tell us what it is, what year, engine, etc so we have enough information to go on. |
