Anyone that has valve covers that has the push cap

How many inches long is the fill tube?   Base to top.

If multiple things can go wrong, the one that will go wrong will be the one that causes the most damage.

1-5/8" from the top of the valve cover to the top of the tube

Re: Anyone that has valve covers that has the push cap

I measurered 1-3/4' from the top of the valve cover to the top of the tube.
Does anyone know where to get an original style push on breather?
Or, what the OEM part number is?

Branda is where I got mine , along with 65 Cobra valve covers.

Re: Anyone that has valve covers that has the push cap

Thank you John Ha and MS.  However, mine looks like the Motorcraft twist-on cap #EC-564.  I've had this one, and a few others, since the late sixties, early severnties, and would like to keep that style.  Also, I know that it had an 'Autolite' or 'Motorcraft' stick-on part id in the center when I got it.

Re: Anyone that has valve covers that has the push cap

Isn’t the 564 cap designed to twist on to a valve cover that has the corresponding hole with two lugs, not a tube?

Now I'm really confused.  Do you want a push-on or a twist-on cap?

The NPD site has both.   This one appears to be close to the form factor you're looking for and is a push-on.  They also sell a sticker to put on the cap to make it seem "original".

Re: Anyone that has valve covers that has the push cap

Sorry for the confusion.  The part number I posted is the twist-on style (EC-564).  What I’m looking for is the same top as the twist-on has, but on a push-on style, see attached pictures of what I have.
The “Cobra” valve covers I currently have were purchased from Ford in the mid-eighties.  I’ve had other Cobra valve covers purchased in the late sixties, early seventies that, if memory serve me correctly, had the same push-on style breather.  These breathers, and valve covers, were all purchased from Ford.

Re: Anyone that has valve covers that has the push cap

Bob, there may be additional versions by Stant/Motorad.

NPD has these options.
