    I've got a lot of experience with the 305 in trucks and cars.  Compared to a 302 its a boat anchor.  One of the happiest days of my life was when I yanked the 305 out of my K5 and replaced it with a 350.

    Yeah......the under-square displacement  small bore X long stroke. ...kinda like trying-to-puke-with-a-rope-around-your-neck as we usta say. Stick big valves in it and they hit the cylinder wallz...bigger heads and CR goes to squat. Destined to 'dog-hood'

    The SBF has a more favorable bore X stroke and that is why it can make enough HP to destroy it's self (using stock stuff)
    But ch'all already know that probably.........!
