I got a new windshield in the 69 today, and my aftermarket rearview mirror mount won’t fit the original style glued-on lug that is on the new glass. Anyone have an original mirror laying around they would sell? All I really need is the horseshoe shaped piece that slides onto the windshield lug and it has a spherical ball on it where the extension mounts. Will buy an entire mirror assembly if needed to get that ball stud mount piece. I think they started using them in 1968..
Can anyone help?

I have already looked at nearly all rhe Mustang vendors offerings. Nobody has the original style mounting lug bracket. I ordered one off ebay that Might work. Otherwise I will get the glass company to remove the lug from the new glass and will reinstall the glue-on bracket that worked before.

Cj pony sells them. I'm sure Kentucky would sell them since cj has them.

I might be gettin' confused with what you're doing. The oval shaped piece glues straight to the screen.
It has a spherical ball on it.

I have one of those. Not right for a 69, which has a tapered lug glued to the glass. Nobody sells them new that I can find. I got a used mirror off ebay that has a lug sort of like the original. It is too wide to fit correctly but I got it to work.

Sounds like a 70-73 style.
Is your car a really late 69?
I know my really late 67 came from Ford with a 68 glue on mirror, so it can happen.

Gotcha so the replacement type is the ball stud mount. Like I posted.
Maybe try contacting
It seems like the owner really cares about getting the correct fitment.

Is this a replacement? Not correct?

The one on ebay is correct. I searched ebay last week and it did not show up. Thanks for finding it. But I already bought one that “works”. That one for the 69-70 would have been better.
I have a good mirror and transition tube. Really just need the right mounting lug/ball.
