Sorry for posting a thread on this but I just could not find the answer in the other threads that came up when I searched. I am making brake lines for my conversion using the PB 6.2 MC. I know the fittings that go into the MC are 10mm Bubble Flare fittings but they are clearly 2 different sizes and I am not able to find the size of each so I can order them. When you look at the item posted on Summit Racing, it says the outlets are both 3/8 in. - 24 but that does not tell me the size of the fitting.

inlinetube.com may be of help. They have a toll free hot line.

You have the wrong master cylinder. The correct one, 2000 Mustang V6, NON ABS, has two 10mm fittings. I just buy a long stick of tubing at OReilly and it comes with 10mm bubble flares on each end. Cut it in half and you have the two tubes you need. Flare the opposite ends to fit the SAE inverted flare fittings on your brake system.

@MS, I am confused. I bought the kit linked below from you and the instructions say "Disc/Disc 2000 Mustang V6 PB-6.2". Are you saying what I have in-hand is NOT a PB-6.2 MC? My MC clearly has 2 different size fittings.

Try this vender, they may have what you're looking for.

OReilly will sell you the right NON-ABS master cylinder. Too bad MustangSteve has not paid attention to what is supposed to go with the kit.
Note: I am no longer associated with the company. What they choose to do is outside my control

This seems like an issue you should clear up with the MustangSteve company directly. I would discuss this with them directly before thinking too deeply in perhaps the wrong direction.

Did not realize that you kept the forums when you sold the business so thought I was talking to the new owner...my bad.
So what MC should I be running? I bet it is the one that you sold me for my 65 (when you still owned the company) that looks very similar but has the fittings on the passenger side of the MC instead of the drivers side like the one I got from the new MustangSteve.

Try contacting them directly and tell them your situation and its the wrong master cyl.

The 2000 Mustang master cylinder came in 10mm/10mm bubble flare ports or 12mm/10mm bubble flare ports.
Looks like that might be a Ranger master cylinder.
Not sure what year.

10/10 - Non ABS
12/10 - ABS

Ranger master cylinder is a lot different. He got the ABS version and needs non-ABS version.
I would take it back to MustangSteve for the right one.
REMEMBER!!! When posting a question about your Mustang or other Ford on this forum, BE SURE to tell us what it is, what year, engine, etc so we have enough information to go on. |
