Amen brother. You and Dan coming up (north, right?) was a huge boost. Invaluable. Immense.
I love that photo. What Lieutenant Dan failed to mention was the time stamp on that pic. 3am in Goshen. Ouch. Several compliments on the "3 Amigos" Mustangs right then and there. She started and idled like a mofo. Runnin' down the road? Not so much.
All nighter was fairly painful and full of angst (for me anyway) but the guy in Tulare who said he was at our disposal, garage full of tools just down the road was pretty awesome. At one point I was so goofy with sleep deprivation that I held up my cut thumb and started talking like the Aussie shark from Finding Nemo. I kill me.

Swapped out the points inside my distributor housing for some Duraspark guts. Did the GM HEI and Ford TFI (square) coil and she runs better. Much better. Starts far more easily and runs strong. Blows the tires off with no effort from a roll. Pulls hard, shift, pulls hard in second.
I have some sort of issue with the trans VB or modulator, not getting 3rd gear in the built C4. Need to dig into the modulator, see which one it is and which direction to go on it.
Regarding the carb, my vintage Holley 780vs seems to have this combo running way rich. Going to fiddle with the jets/power valve and squirter to see if I can make her happy.
And reinstall the HEI with a legit heat sink.
Reconnect the 1 1/8" sway bar with BMW spherical links to eliminate suspension bind.
And pull the hood, remove most of the dings, affix the hood scoop, repaint the underside white and the top side flat black. Reinstall.
Install the fender to rocker hardware that just arrived.
Get the interior installed.
Get the dash lights to work.
wire power to the add on gauges lights.
Install the bumper and valence lights, maybe even a grille.
Install the snazzy LeCarra style steering wheel.
Finish the horn relay BulletBob mod.
Install relays in the headlight circuit.
Get a smaller battery.
Get a decent tach.
Figure out the door latches and locks.
Put the 3.00:1 gears in my nodular trac loc center section.
Convert RPM's 2.50:1 center section back to 28 splines.
Return the hoard of items "borrowed" from RPM
Upgrade to a 16:1 steering box and GT350 pitman and idler arms
Add an accessory fuse box in the passenger kick panel.
Oh and a hundred other things.

I did sacrifice an electric fan of unknown origin to make a fan shroud. I didn't like how the shroud off my '69 matched up to the radiator and I really didn't like anything I found online. So rather than waste time scouring pick a part or similar, I killed the eFan on RPM's engine run stand. I had put it on there after RPM and I bought a pickup load of Ferd parts - I call that purchase the parts hoard. Sold one part out of it and Bob and I got our money back.
It's netted a few good things,
This fan was fine on the run stand but Bob said if I went eFan in the fastback he'd kill me. So, I killed the fan instead.
With the housing laid on my radiator it looked promising so I started cutting.
She gave up her guts fairly willingly and it wasn't quite the right size and shape. So I sectioned down the driver's side. It wasn't wide enough so I killed another eFan to add the pop out on the pass side.
A little plastic primer/softener and some flat black and she looks a treat.

I was mighty impressed with Paul's fab skills on several parts of the car, including the radiator shroud, as it looks factory imo. He also made a compound curve repair panel for the right inner fender battery tray area that certainly may with my approval. The hand formed trans tube cooler lines to a dedicated cooler, and the tube fuel lines are perfect. And probably more work which I've forgotten. Nice work bro.

Thank you to boffa yous Bobs.
The rad I bought had a C channel on both sides with mounting holes. I used the forward ones to mount the rad to the radiator support and the rear ones to affix the shroud. I epoxied/riveted L shaped mounting tabs inside the shroud. I'll see if I can find more pics.

Did RPM share with you the little-used-totally-effective trick of light weight advance springs and a total timing limiter for your distributor? A real...NOTICEABLE boost in power when performed. The best part of the mod.......ITS FREE !!!
It really sharpens-up the idle when running a 'snotty-idling' camshaft. It allows you to run a bunch of advance at idle... (which the engine likes) butt-knot so much it rattles itself to death at upper RPM's.

Thanks Mike! Yeah, Bob and I text all the time; speak pretty often and I have traveled down to Bako and he up to Fresno to collaborate on car stuff. I can't say with any certainty which tidbits I've shared with him and vice versa. The dizzy I have in the car is one I assembled 20+ yars ago and it did have light springs and a limiter sleeve on one leg of the advance mech. It could use further tweaking but I'm holding off until I get this scatter miss I'm plagued with sorted out. The DS/HEI/TFI "dirt cheap" ignition setup has it quick starting, running good but it hasn't cleared up the miss. My pro wrench buddy thinks it's a vacuum leak. We've found no leaks topside of the mani/adaptor plate/carb or attachments, so I'm pulling the intake.

Here you go...I was able to find a pic that shows what you are asking about. The C channel on the rad side, the standoffs and bolts through the rad support to mount the radiator. You can also see the little L brackets holding the shroud to the radiator.
Bonus - my "hipo" looking alt pulley I machined up, the cleaned up original alternator that I rebuilt with new bearings and a higher output set of guts. Cranked it from 40a all the way up to 85 (IIRC, it was a long time ago.)
