I am just about ready to get exhaust put on my 67. It has a 302, 4v with a mild cam. What size pipe would you recommend? 2" , 2-1/4, or 2-1/2". Most likely will just be street driven. What advantages or disadvantages are the different sizes? Has long tube headers on it.

If it's a coupe/fastback 2 1/2" On a convertable 2 1/4" may be a better choice because of the cross over plate. I have seen the larger diameters on the convertable but it takes more work to get it right.

2-1/4" seems to make the most sense on a small block. It is alot easier to fit, is a little quieter than 2-1/2" and is less money. It will still flow more than your engine can pump.

I am leaning toward 2-1/4. Is 2" too restrictive?

Probably not....if you use a free flow mufler.
That's where most "restriction" stems from, not so much the pipe dia.

I'm with the rest. On a mild 302 a 2 1/4" pipe is plenty. You will not get to the rpm level where more volume is needed. And you cannot believe how much more room underneath you will have for other stuff using a 2 1/4 vs 2 1/2 pipes. I use only a 2/12 on my 351w.
Even the 2" would probably work just fine for normal driving, but you might find yourself little lacking at the top end with sprightly driving.
