BBQ 289 progress

I got the “carbs” all rebuilt and ready to mount. Found an old distributor…
I think a 5/16” hole through the two vent tubes will provide a system to bolt them down.

Are the throttle plates on the carbs going to serve as the upper air holes for the bbq?

Re: BBQ 289 progress

No
There are no throttle plates. My “2 for $10” swap meet carbs did not come with throttle plates.
Exhaust for the grill will be through headers.

Can't wait to see the final product in use! I'd like to suggest that you make a How To video, so it can go viral, and every gear head will want to make one!

Can't wait to see BBQ in service. So the intake will be the opening to the actual cooking grill? How will that work with the distributor cap not melting? Gonna give a new meaning to greasy burgers and greasy steaks. I like my good ole webber.
