I am needing a thin wall 13/16 for my new Shelby 10 spokes has those 2 inch pointed lug nuts.
Wanting to keep in my car. would like it to be like a 4 way. I knew a couple of you had the Shelby 10 spokes and wondered what you used. those freaking lug nuts are like 7-8 dollars each at summit now.

I keep a dedicated 1/2” deep thin wall socket and breaker bar in my “emergency kit” for use on my 15” ten spoke wheels just in case the wheel needs to come off.
Since I haven’t carried a spare for over 25 years I have a tire sealant kit and small 12v air compressor.
Branda has conical Shelby lug nuts @ $6.5., you will only need 16 if you use McGaurd locks.

The lugs on the Cargar Vintage wheels on the Heap go a coupla tight spots and I just use a 3/8 drive socket adapted to my 1/2 drive breaker bar. Also got one in the trunk tool kit.

Make your own thin walled sockets.

Seems to me I have a plug socket that is 13/16. It is thinwall. I think I got it at Sears a long time ago.

When in doubt just make one as suggested. I have a bunch of thin wall sockets I made with a bench grinder.

I seen where they sell a tool looks like a breaker bar has a bend in it for this very reason.

I keep a 3/8" drive socket set in the trunk. It has standard deep sockets (not the thick impact drive type), one of which works well for the lug nuts. I bought a breaker bar and keep that in there too to help get the lug nuts loose.

Yes. I forgot about that, but a friend gave me one years ago and it's in the trunk also. And, the socket with it is thin enough that it clears the lug nuts, as I recall. I'll try to get a pic of it for you sometime today....maybe.

A 3/8” drive will handle 100 foot pounds, butt that’s about its limit, less if they are from the .dollar store. Iffn the nuts are rusted it might take more torque to bustem loose.
Oh yeah, I forgot to mention always use 6 point sockets on lug nuts butt ya’all knew that already dincha.
